Petite Office Style Inspiration

As much as I enjoy posting about more casual looks, in reality I am dressing up for work five days a week. Now that spring is here, it is time to put away the turtleneck sweaters, the black slacks, and the wool coats. As soon as March rolls around I like to revamp my spring work wardrobe by incorporating a few lighter pieces into it. Talbots has always been a favorite store of mine when it comes to office styles. Talbots office clothing is classic, stylish, and and it definitely comes in petite sizes. I especially like wearing Talbots pants for work as they are well made and they last multiple seasons!

A Classic Double Breasted Trench

It is definitely still chilly here, so that means coats are still a necessity. I may not be wearing wool coats right now, but at the very least I am wearing some sort of spring trench coat. I’ve had a love of trench coats ever since college, and I have steadily been adding different trenches to my closet over the years. Trench coats are a favorite of mine in the cooler spring weather as they do so much to elevate any kind of office outfit. I purchased the grey trench I am wearing.  at The Limited before they filed for bankruptcy. The Limited is back as an online retailer, though the trench I am wearing is still sold out. It is one of my favorite trenches to wear in the spring as grey is such a nice color that works well with pastel colors. While mine is sold out this one from ASOS is very similar.  The classic double breasted trench really is a timeless look that will never go out of style!

Talbots Scallop Hem V-Neck Sweater

It is no secret that I love anything scalloped (see where I’ve posted here, here, and here)! A scalloped edge is such a great way to elevate the style of any top or dress.  Given that it is still chilly right now, I knew this Talbot’s scallop hem V-neck sweater would be great for my spring office style. The V-neck design and the scalloped hem will look flattering on just about anyone. This is a nice basic top that would be easy to style with a statement necklace or scarf (though I kept the look simple with a small necklace). This sweater is made of a comfortable cotton-based blend, and it feels soft to touch. I am wearing white, but it also comes in black and a light blue color. I am wearing a Misses XS and it fits me perfectly.

When it comes to pants for work, I almost always were black, navy or beige. So when I saw these pretty mint blue pants, I knew they would be perfect for spring.  These pants fit well and the tapered legs are flattering to my petite frame. They come in petite sizes too, which makes shopping for work pants so much easier. While I am wearing them with a white top, these would be easy to style with a floral or striped blouse. These pants even come with a matching blazer.  Talbots pants are definitely a favorite of mine for work as they are well made and come in sizes that will definitely fit me. For reference here I am wearing a 2 petite.

  1. Out of the entire outfit, I think I’d be able to pull off the trench coat and the heals. The colors do scream “SPRINGTIME”.

  2. I work from home, so don’t need “office clothes” very much, but I love that scalloped shirt! It’s something I would wear out and about as well. Ok, maybe just when the kids aren’t with me because white and little kids don’t mix well, but I would certainly try! The scallops add just a little bit of flair to it so that it’s something different.

  3. I love the scallop detail on the sweater’s hem and sleeves. So pretty and feminine. I also wear black or beige dress pants for work but this minty blue color you wore is very refreshing to the eyes. I love your style inspiration!

  4. Elegant, beautiful, and simple. This outfit looks so good on you. I love the simple style and simple colors!

  5. What an adorable outfit. I love the pants! Mint is one of my favorite colors. I love how you paired it with the gray!

  6. I like your spring wardrobe, it’s really stylish and light. I love the colors of the outfit, it’s very soothing to the eyes!

  7. Such a chic outfit for office wear! Love the neutrals and how dressy yet comfy the outfit looks. You look so fab babe 🙂

  8. You look beautiful there with your look. I really do love the coat, blouse, and pants. It’s a really nice spring look.
