Foolproof Spring Layering Tips
Springtime is all about light layering for cooler temperatures. There are so many different ways to layer clothes for spring, but today I am talking about three of my favorite ways to do so.
The first way is to add a hat. I am so glad to see hats are in style again. Hats instantly elevate any outfit and they are a great way to conceal a bad hair day. It was so windy the day we took these pictures, and thankfully I had planned on wearing this hat! This is a simple navy fedora, but I also like boater hats, floppy hats, and bolero hats.
The second way is to add a scarf. This adorable scalloped shirt from Shein (for only $21) is a great spring top in itself. The dark blue trim adds interest to a somewhat plain blue striped top. By adding a contrasting print, this adds an extra element of style that complements the top so well. The scarf I chose here hasa contrasting mauve color but it also has blue to coordinate with the hat and the blue piping of the top. Generally when you pick a scarf it should somehow coordinate with the colors in your outfit.
The third and final way is to add texture. I love this Gigi New York Jenni Saddle Bag made with pebble grain leather. The swingy tassle also adds a fun and whimsical style element. The straw detail of the hat also adds another element of texture to the outfit.
This outfit would have been rather plain with just the top and white jeans, but by adding the hat, the scarf, and the textured purse, an outfit like this can become distinctive!
Thanks for looking!
