How to Save Money on a Burberry Trench

A Burberry trench is one of those coveted wardrobe pieces that will never go out of style. When you decide to buy a Burberry trench, you can rest assure that your investment will still be worthwhile years down the road. Burberry trenches typically come with a hefty price tag. If you are smart you can save a lot of money if you buy off season. I know right now so many fashion bloggers are posting about spring and summer outfits. If you keep your eye out for the sales, you can score a nice Burberry trench for substantially less than you would pay in season.

In today’s post I am wearing a pink Burberry trench I purchased in July 2016 from Bluefly.com. A trench like this (the Burberry Sandringham trench is almost identical ) currently retails for $1595. Since I purchased it in the summer Bluefly was running their summer clearance sale. I ended up paying $770.40 for it, a much better price! I am wearing a size 4. Aside from needing the sleeves taken in, it fits fairly well on my petite frame. The trench is roomy enough to be able to layer it over clothing. Right now Bluefly has several classic trenches on sale, including this Kensington short trench, this mid-length Kensington trench, and this Sandringham long trench. Sizing is limited so of course you want to be able to purchase the right size for you. Frequently Bluefly has 25% off coupons (though none currently) and you can save even more money.

Of course, shopping for sales is not the only way to save money on a Burberry. If you happen to be traveling to the United Kingdom the exchange rate is favorable (currently $1.30 to one British pound) so you can save money that way. Another way is by shopping the sales at Bloomingdales. Often Bloomingdales will have sales for their Loyalists, and you get sizable gift cards for future purchases (I once received a $250 gift card for purchasing a winter Burberry coat). And then there are aways sites such as Ebay and Tradesey. I’ve had pretty good success buying designer goods on Ebay for a reasonable price. Be sure the price isn’t “too good to be true” and make sure there is a return option available. Also make sure the pictures accurately describe what you are getting.

I hope this post is helpful for anyone considering investing in a Burberry!

  1. A great post and I love that pink trench and it looks great on you! So much more interesting than the camel/khaki color. I agree and would add: if you can, visit someplace where you can try on a Burberry trench, so you know your size. My local Nordstrom carries Burberry trenches, so once I found a style and size that looked good on me, then scoured the internet and waited for sales. Bloomingdales is a great suggestion for sales/offers.

    1. You are so right Faith! Trying on in person and then finding the sales is the way to go.

  2. What smart ideas!!! I honestly lucked out and found my burberry trench from a second hand store and it was in perfect condition.

  3. you’ve definitely found the best way to save majorly! I can’t believe you got this Burberry for such an amazing price! The pink color is so beautiful on you and it really is perfect for spring.

  5. GREAT tips! I’d love a Burberry trench, but sadly, have very little need for one here in Miami haha! However, since you shared some very valuable tips on getting one for a good deal… I may need to rethink that! haha! Love the pink… so pretty!
