Nichols Arboretum Peony Garden
One of the most popular attractions in Ann Arbor is the Nichols Arboretum Peony Garden. This gem of a garden is located just behind Mott Children’s Hospital in downtown Ann Arbor. The garden is a magical place that is literally across the street from the University of Michigan Hospitals. This garden comes to life in late May/early June with over 270 varieties of peonies that were cultivated in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. This was my first time visiting the garden and I was in awe at the beauty of the garden! The peonies here come in so many vibrant colors (except blue). Together they create a stunning scene that is definitely worth visiting in the springtime. My girls had so much fun exploring the garden while we were there (and so did I!).
I wanted to wear something special for my first visit to the Peony Gardens. The Self Portrait Azalea Dress in white is a gorgeous dress that I think looks perfect for a walk in the gardens. This stunning dress can also be worn for any special occasion, such as a nice evening date, a wedding, or a baby shower. The dress comes also comes in cobalt blue, light blue, and red. It does tend to run on the small size, so I recommend going one size up from your typical dress size. I am wearing it with this cute straw bag from Hat Attack. My shoes are chic summer sandals by Raye. I did not pick the peonies in my bag from the garden (but rather picked them up at Costco a few hours earlier).
Photos from todays session were taken by the talented Amy of AEBPhotography. I highly recommend that you check out her work!
As always, thanks for looking!
