Happy St. Patrick’s day! This is always such a fun holiday to celebrate at our house. We don’t do anything big, but the Leprachaun definitely surprises our kids with a fun surprise and some green glitter dust. I’ve always known vaguely I am of Irish descent, which makes celebrating this holiday even more fun. I definitely try to wear green for the holiday, if only to avoid being pinched!
Back when I was in college, my brother and I went to Ireland for a few days, and it was quite the memorable experience! I will never forget stepping off the plane and into the airport of Dublin, Ireland when I noticed everyone there had blonde hair, a fair complexion, and blue eyes. I thought, “everybody here looks like me. I know where I came from.” Back home, I’ve always lived amongst a diverse population, so I had never quite experienced anything like that. Exploring the city was so much fun, and it was eye opening to see just how much of American culture is influenced by the Irish. And of course this is why we celebrate St. Patricks Day!
Prettygarden Polka Dot Pleated Midi Skirt
Anyway, to make sure I had something green to wear on St. Patrick’s Day, I wanted a green skirt. I found this cute and classy polka dot midi skirt on Amazon. For the price (only $18!) this skirt is surprisingly well-made. On my short frame, it does go down to my ankles, so I made sure to wear boots with a heel. This skirt even has pockets too! If green is not your color, this skirt also comes in black, red, navy, white, and yellow. I am wearing a small, and this skirt fits quite well.
It is still pretty cold here right now, and I am so over winter. Wearing green is a great way to add color to your wardrobe around the springtime. Green is a soothing color, and certainly reminds you of nature around you!
