Smile Sciences Teeth Whitening Review
Your smile is the first thing that people will see. When I was younger I was always so self conscious about my smile because my teeth were not straight. I look back at older pictures of myself and I was always hiding my teeth because I was insecure about them. I finally was able to get braces when I was 25, and that was the beginning of my blossoming self confidence! It was after I had my braces off that I had my first experience with professional teeth whitening. What a difference it made in my new smile! I was so glad I did it at the time, but work and family got in the way and I wasn’t able to return to the dentist to have my teeth whitened professionally. I tried whitening strips and whitening toothpaste, but neither worked as well as the professional teeth whitening experience I had several years ago.
So when I heard about the Smile Sciences home teeth whitening kit, I was intrigued. I have tried other at-home teeth whitening kits, but they are quite time consuming to get the results you want. Smile Sciences is different because the simple kit also contains an LED light. I did the research on this and I found many conflicting studies. Some said the LED light was beneficial but others did not. I was curious and decided to try it for myself to see how it works.
What Comes in the Kit?
The Smile Sciences teeth whitening kit comes with everything you need to whiten your teeth from home. The kit includes:
- Upper and Lower Trays that you custom fit to your mouth.
- One 5-ml syringe of whitening gel (6 treatments)
- Two vitamin E sticks
- One LED light for quick results (used with trays and pen)
- A maintenance pen for whitening on the go (14 Treatments)
What I really like about the trays is that they are really easy to use. All you have to do is boil some water, let it cool a bit and then place the warmed tray in your mouth to create a mold. The entire process takes less than 10 minutes. There is no need to create a mold of your teeth to send to a lab. And the teeth whitening gel is of a moderate strength, and I found it to be quite effective.
Does the LED Light Really Work?
I have to say I am thoroughly impressed with the Smile Sciences teeth whitening kit! I did use the LED light as recommended by the company and I do think it made a difference. The Smile Sciences kit was used for 20 minutes (combined with my light) on my teeth for a total of three times and see below for the difference!
You can clearly see the difference in my teeth with the three teeth whitening sessions. My teeth would be even whiter if I used it more frequently, but overall I am satisfied with my results!
