Everlane Relaxed Mint Green Silk Shirt Review
For work, I am always looking for new brands that carry professional lines of clothing. While I was in Soho, NYC I came across the Everlane store. I had read about this store through other fashion blogs, and I knew that people were impressed with the quality and styles they have. Everlane I would stay is a step above the usual J. Crew, Banana Republic, and Ann Taylor stores. They are known for their classic styles, fine materials, and quality workmanship. Because of this, I took the plunge and bought the Everlane Relaxed Mint Green Silk Shirt.
This mint green silk shirt is 100% silk and very petite-friendly. It also comes in seven different colors (the blush and the striped versions are my favorites). I of course like the mint color the best (and evidently so did many others as the 00 is the only size left). Fortunately, the 00 is just the size I need for my very petite upper body. This shirt is somewhat loose-fitting (and on a windy day it makes the perfect parachute!). The styling is as classic as it gets! The simple pleat at the back of the blouse adds an extra element of detail.
I am not one who normally likes collared shirts because I don’t really like the way they feel. This shirt though is so soft that the collar doesn’t bother me at all. The collar also lays nice and flat against my neckline, which makes it look quite polished.
I styled this mint green silk shirt for work with a simple pair of cream pants and an accent belt. This top could be styled so many different ways though. It would also look nice with a pencil skirt, under a sheath dress, or even with a pair of jeans and a nice blazer. One really cannot go wrong with this top, and it is just a nice staple piece to have in your closet. It is priced at $88, which I think is a good price for a quality silk top that will hast for years.
For the cooler weather, I also wore my favorite Burberry Jacket (seen here and my full review here). This honey colored jacket coordinates well with my shoes, belt and bag. The color scheme is neutral enough that it could be worn in the spring or the fall. Overall this is just a nice classic and timeless look.
Thanks for looking!
