Ann Taylor Boucle Funnel Neck Coat

So winter is definitely here now. We’ve had some absolutely frigid temperatures here in Michigan (as most of the Midwest has been experiencing). Not to mention several inches of snow are on the ground. With the cold temperatures here to stay for the near future at least, the snow will not be melting any time soon. So expect to see several more blog posts from me in the snow. Trying to forever be the optimist, I am embracing the snow and all it’s beauty, and am choosing outfits that I know will look great in the snow!

Conventional wisdom states that one shouldn’t wear white after Labor Day. This “rule” has not really been enforced with today’s fashion trends, which I absolutely love! White is such a classic color and it goes with so many things, so why can’t you wear white the entire year? While it is perfectly acceptable now to wear all white in the winter, I like mixing it with darker colors for a more balanced look. This Ann Taylor Boucle Funnel Neck Coat has been on my wish list for quite some time now. I finally hit the buy button during one of Ann Taylor’s 50% off sales. It is currently 40% off list price now, so it can still be had at a great price.

This beautiful winter white boucle coat is such a classic! I love the simple, classic and tailored look of this coat. The gold buttons add a really nice accent to the coat. While this coat is meant to be dressier, it is still functional at keeping you warm with it’s funnel neck design. It also doesn’t have to be worn with a dressy outfit, as it also looks great with a pair of jeans and a t-shirt.

I absolutely love to wear sweater dresses with OTK boots in the winter, so I decided to wear this coat with a simple grey turtleneck dress and grey boots. Wearing this white coat with grey boots and dress really make the coat the centerpiece of the outfit.

I am wearing an XSP. While the petite sizes are sold out, this coat is still available in all regular sizes. I decided to wear my favorite Kendra Scott Phara tassel necklace to accent the gold buttons in the coat.

Tory Burch Laila Suede Over the Knee Boots

I have been looking for a nice grey OTK boot this season. While I typically love anything Stuart Weitzman, I didn’t want to pay the high price tag of a Stuart Weitzman boot. So I found the Tory Burch Laila suede OTK boots at a much better price point (currently under $300), and I knew I had found exactly what I am looking for!  Can I tell you how much I love these boots? These boots are comfortable, stylish, and they don’t slide down off my legs as some OTK boots do. The color I am wearing is called “Carbon” and this light grey is neutral enough it can be worn with many different outfits. While the light grey is a pretty color, this boot also comes in black and a rich green color (which I could see being styled so many ways!).

Other Ann Taylor Sale Favorites

Ann Taylor is having a great after-Christmas sale now. All sale items are up to 70% off and all regular priced items are 40% off the regular price. Some of my favorites (for staying warm) from the sale include this stylish herringbone wrap coat.I love the classic styling of this piece. This plaid funnel neck coat is the same design as the white coat I am wearing, but in a colorful red plaid pattern. This pretty pink bell sleeve dress caught my eye at my local Ann Taylor store. It could easily be styled with a statement necklace and boots for the winter, but would also be a nice spring piece. This relaxed longline blazer is a closet staple and would be a great layering piece. One can never have too many sweaters in these freezing temperatures, so I also like this striped bell sleeve sweater and this pretty pink tie sleeve sweater. There are so many other great items that are available right now at a great price so you should head to the Ann Taylor website to check out what you like!

So try to stay warm in these frigid temperatures this season! As always, thanks for looking!

  1. This white winter coat is absolutely fabulous. I would never think about pairing the grey dress and boots with that coat, but the ensemble is absolutely gorgeous. Love it

  2. I do love winter white! And it looks great with the gray accessories you have. I also love it with pale pink or pale blue.

  3. Love this out and all the gold details. How do you keep the boots from being damaged in the snow? I am super worried that the salt off the street will damage my knee-highs and yours look so awesome!

  4. I love everything about this outfit. I love the chic elegance and fun playfulness. I, especially, love the boots and coat.

  5. Ann Taylor has always been a favorite of mine for a wide variety of both styles AND sizes which is great because I am curvy. My eyes went straight to the boots because I am boot obsessed! πŸ™‚

  6. I love those gray boots! They’re soo cute! Also, the handbag is definitely something I would love to add to my collection.

  7. You look so warm even though it must be cold in the snow. I love that big sweater dress and the neck is stylish and comfortable. Will look for these sales.

  8. I love everything about this look! Those boots are to die for. That coat is everything! What a great color combo too. Your are rocking it, beautiful girl.

    1. Thank you Martina! Yes my legs were bare, but with only a small bit of them showing I wasn’t cold at all!
