A Pastel-Inspired Casual Spring Outfit
Happy Memorial Day Weekend everyone! What are your plans for the holiday weekend? I plan on laying low by doing some relaxing with the family and (hopefully if it doesn’t rain) doing a bit of spring gardening. Our lives are so crazy busy, that sometimes it is just nice to have a weekend home where you don’t have to do much at all. The one thing I will be doing though is shopping all the Memorial weekend sales (which I will outline my favorites below). In the meantime I thought I would show you one of my favorite casual spring looks. Even though it is almost summer, we’ve still had quite a few cooler days where a sweater and jeans are a necessity. Even though I have had to dress in layers, I still like to wear white jeans and pastel tops to keep me in the spring spirit!
Bobeau High Low Cardigan
Cardigans are something I am always wearing on a chillier spring day. This Bobeau cardigan has been one of my favorites, so much so that I have it in three colors. I just bought the spring color last month, so I was a bit shocked to see it sold out after being available for the last three years (and I suspect they will bring it back). Luckily Bobeau also makes this high low jersey cardigan that looks almost the same and is a little thinner (which I think is better for spring). I own it in a striped version and I love it! It is one of those comfortable cardigans that you just don’t want to take off!
Hudson Crop Denim Jeans
I love wearing white jeans any time of the year really. They are so easy to style and they look great on a petite frame. I’ve had these Hudson high waisted ankle skinny jeans for the last two years, and they have held up so well! I really like the raw hem too (which makes them really easy to cut if you need to make them shorter). They are definitely worth the extra investment you will make to have them!
Caslon Striped Peplum Tee
When we took these photos I had just finished a huge Italian meal with my family. I tell you it is situations like that where you want to be wearing a peplum tee! This versatile striped peplum tee is on sale (as part of the Nordstrom Half Yearly Sale). This is a great everyday t-shirt! Love the fit and the comfort of it. The peplum styling elevates the overall look of what is a simple t-shirt. It’s great for wearing with a pair of shorts, or under a cardigan like I am showing you here. It comes in white, grey, and a striped version (available in limited sizes) and is under $24. If you are obsessed with stripes like I am then this striped peplum tee is just as nice!
Marc Fisher Espadrilles
How fun and adorable are these pretty pink espadrilles by March Fisher? I thought about getting these more traditional ones, but in the end I like the artful knot detail so much more. I love them so much I will definitely be wearing them on repeat this spring and summer! And since Marc Fisher is having an awesome Memorial Day sale, they are an extra 20% off the sale price (which makes them under $80.
The Best Memorial Weekend Sales
In addition to gardening and cookouts, I will definitely be shopping the Memorial Weekend Sales! There are so many great finds in fashion and home decor. Now is the time to refresh your spring wardrobe or to redecorate your home for spring. Here are the notable sales:
