Must-Have Wool Coats for the Fall
It seems like overnight it went from temperatures in the 80’s to temperatures in the 50’s here in Michigan. When the weather becomes cold, I develop an obsession with staying warm. So of course I’d like to stay warm and be stylish at the same time, and that for me means a nice wool coat. There are so many nice wool coats that have caught my eye this season! The weather isn’t so cold that you need to bundle up, but a nice lightweight wool coat really can go a long way.
Kenzie Notch Lapel Peplum Coat
I have to say, one of my favorite wool coats of the season is the Kenzie Notch Lapel Peplum Coat. This classically styled coat is so feminine and graceful with it’s peplum hem. The pearlescent buttons add a vintage touch. The coat is fully-lined and is made of a combination of wool/rayon/and polyester. With a 35″ length, this coat is perfect as a petite winter coat. This coat also comes in a lovely camel color, though I am partial to the pink. It does run large, so I do recommend sizing down. I am wearing an XS and it fits fairly well, even in the sleeves. It is on sale now for under $150, which I think is a great price for a wool coat.
Abercrombie and Fitch Lace Trim Cami
The weather wasn’t totally freezing the day we took these pictures, so underneath the coat I am wearing this pretty lace trim cami from Abercrombie and Fitch. At $28 this is a great cami to add to your closet. The quality is quite similar to more expensive camis that I own. It also comes in several darker and lighter shades.
Style Trend: Straight Leg Jeans
Can I tell you I am the first one that will be glad to see the skinny jean trend end? As a petite woman with short legs, I really prefer to wear straight leg or flared jeans. They just make my legs look so much longer! Thankfully, there are many straight-leg jeans to choose from this season. These drop-hem straight leg jeans from Marks and Spencer (previously worn in this post) are sold out, unfortunately. These Citizens of Humanity Gia cropped straight leg jeans are very similar, and are definitely petite friendly jeans with a 27″ inseam. Having owned Citizens of Humanity jeans already, I do believe they are worth the higher price.
My Christian Louboutin So Kate heels complete the look. I don’t often wear these heels given the heel is 4.8″ tall. I recently discovered these Sheec toe cover socks, and I wish I had found them sooner! These simple toe cover socks make my Louboutin So Kate heels so much more comfortable to wear. My toes just slide into the shoe when wearing the toe cover.
